Roy Grinnell (Born 1933) is active/lives in New Mexico, California.  Roy Grinnell is known for Frontier genre, animal, figure.

A painter of western historical themes, he was born in Santa Barbara, California and in 1978 moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

He graduated from Santa Barbara high school and served four years in the Navy and then spent a semester at the Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles followed by twelve years of study and work with top illustrators in New York City. He spent three years in commercial art in California before moving to Santa Fe.

Affiliations include the Society of American Historical Artists and the Cowboy Artists of America where in 1991, he won the Silver Award for Drawing and Other Water Media.
